A Version Control Account and Your First Repository
The course has you copy a project down to your machine to work on, so you'll need an account with a version control host and one repository in it. We use GitHub because it's the most widely known, but any host works. It's free.
Do you already have this?
A version control host is a website that holds your projects, so they aren't only on your computer. A repository is one project's folder there.
To find out, sign in to your host and look for a repository under your account. If there's at least one, you already have what the course needs. If not, this guide gets you set up on GitHub. On another host, follow its own documentation for the account and the repository.
