At ByteDragon (“we,” “us,” or “our”), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe when you visit our website or take our courses. By using our services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Personal Information

• Email address - collected when you subscribe to our mailing list or sign up for course information
• Name - optionally provided when you fill out forms on our website

Security Check on Sign-Up and Access Forms

When you start using a sign-up form on our site, or the form subscribers use to access a resource, your browser loads a security check from a service provider. The check helps us tell people from bots. To do this, it looks at technical details about your browser and your connection, such as your IP address.

The provider runs the check on our behalf and also uses these details to improve how it detects bots. Our server receives only the result of the check.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Email marketing - to send you course updates, educational content, and promotional materials via our email marketing platform
• Personalization - to understand your interests and provide relevant course recommendations
• Analytics and optimization - to understand how users interact with our website and improve our content and user experience

If you email us a project for our gallery, we publish it only with your permission. The gallery shows the project's name, a short description, its link, and a screenshot, plus your name if you want it there. If you change your mind, email us at privacy@bytedragon.com and we will take your project down.

Analytics and advertising are on by default. If you want to turn them off, go to Your Privacy Choices, linked at the bottom of every page. We also honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal.

Turning analytics off stops us sharing your browsing activity with advertising partners. Information about a purchase you make is still shared, so we can measure whether our advertising works. That includes the page you were on when you started the purchase.

Your choice is saved in the browser you set it in, so set it in each browser you use.

Turning analytics off, or sending the Global Privacy Control browser signal, does not turn off the security check on our sign-up and access forms. The check is how a form tells a person from a bot, so it runs either way.

If you want us to delete the information we hold about you, email us at privacy@bytedragon.com and we will remove it.

You can set your browser to block cookies. Some parts of the site may not work properly without them.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Several US states have privacy laws that give you rights over the personal information a business holds about you. We will act on any of these requests, from anyone who makes one, wherever you live:

• Ask us to correct it. We will fix anything that is wrong or incomplete.

• Turn off targeted advertising. Go to Your Privacy Choices. That stops us sharing your browsing activity with advertising partners. We still share information about a purchase you make, which we explain under Cookies and Tracking Technologies above.

To turn off targeted advertising you do not have to contact us or tell us who you are. We also honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out. For anything else, email us at privacy@bytedragon.com and we will answer within 30 days. We may need to check it is really you before we act on a request.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not knowingly collect or share personal information from anyone under 18.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When you ask us to delete your data, we delete it.

We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement industry-standard security measures to protect it:

• All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
• Rate limiting is enforced on all public forms to prevent abuse
• A security check on our sign-up and access forms helps stop bots from misusing email addresses

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Our courses and website are designed for adults (18 and older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has shared personal information with us, please contact us at privacy@bytedragon.com and we will promptly remove it.
